Nice video, a few years out, covering the unreleased Fun With Music title that we never got.
Interesting to see what could have been an early foray into rhythm gaming for our big ape.

Too bad Pauline missed out on a playable appearance. Nice in-depth video, and he did well with identifying the music tracks included. I had some trouble with that when I wrote this, plug plug. The landing page/games list of which appears to be broken. What a shambles, unlike this fair site.

Yeah she missed out on her playable debut by a year! So close! She'd still get playable status the following year in Family BASIC, and star in her own title the year after, Ladies Golf. Still though, would have been interesting to see her in this one, wielding the famous hammer.
Also interesting to note is that DK's involvement with rhythm games started back in 1983, so the resurgence of the concept later should come as little surprise, seeing how Miyamoto likes to revisit ideas every decade or so.

I can imagine the North American version would have utilized the Miracle Piano, the NES Keyboard.

Oh man I didn't even know that was a thing. Someone should go homebrew a DK's Fun With Music to work with that.

Oh damn. That's like, a full-sized keyboard. Wow. Yep! DK's fun with music should be made into a homebrew of sorts, if someone's up to it using the nes assets...the keyboard isn't cheap, however...

Must certainly add that to the list of hacks, mods, and homebrews to do once I figure out what I'm doing.

So the Famicom actually had a keyboard periferal of it's own! Not sure how much it's worth, but here's a picture of it hooked up!
