So the Famicom actually had a keyboard periferal of it's own! Not sure how much it's worth, but here's a picture of it hooked up!

Ape III seems more like the robo kong from that one episode of the Dkc TV Show that I can't name.

Were there any other home ports of junior outside of the Nintendo versions?

But since there aren't many animals in the environment that DK resides in, why doesn't he use Construction Equipment to get around?

From what I understand about the original King Kong, only a handful of armatures exist from the entire production, including only 2 of Kong himself, right?

Oh damn. That's like, a full-sized keyboard. Wow. Yep! DK's fun with music should be made into a homebrew of sorts, if someone's up to it using the nes assets...the keyboard isn't cheap, however...

Oh man I didn't even know that was a thing. Someone should go homebrew a DK's Fun With Music to work with that. This is it. Not sure if it posted right...

I can imagine the North American version would have utilized the Miracle Piano, the NES Keyboard.

So this is basically an enhanced version of DK Jr. with more levels and such, right?

As an impressionable teenage mind that wanted to stick to what everyone usually says, I hated Nuts and Bolts. Over time, however, I acquired a complete copy (disk, manual, inserts, etc), and finally played it. Needless to say, I ended up having a blast with it, playing it every day for 3 months until eventually beating it. I loved the music, the humor, the character, the levels, all of it! Although some missions were tedious and required hours of thought to eventually get them done, it was still not as tedious as 101%ing DK 64. (Not that I didn't enjoy DK 64 overall.)

Is that the reason? I thought the reason was because Nintendo didn't yet have a home console of their own or hadn't started being exclusive with it. After all, DK Jr. got ported to a bunch of platforms too. On the topic though, there's a good couple of posts on Supper Mario Broth comparing sprites form different ports of the game. There's one for Mario and Pauline, I thought there was one for DK too but I can't find it. I think any of the simpler, yellow-tinted sprites come from Crazy Kong, a Nintendo-Licenced knock off.

Conker's Big Reunion makes a blatent refrence to it when Conker is in the brewery, heading up some slanted platforms with barrels coming down. I'm a little lazy to try and find an actual game play video currently, but it's there.
