I've been playing these on the computer (pica-pic and other websites) at work in my down time. I own the not-as-nice transfers through Game and Watch 2 & 3 and I play those at home...man are these games a blast. For such a simple system, I can't help but have so much fun playing them over and over again. And the in-game art style? It reminds me of classic Mickey Mouse cartoons, Betty Boop, and early Looney Tunes. I would love a new arcade-era DK game in this style--possibly like Cuphead but with some Arcade-style game play. The early Kong and Mario games already have that element of Popeye-Bluto/Mickey-Pete aspect to it.
I haven't yet played the DK3vs for Game and Watch. I don't own Gallery 4 or the original Game and Watch...I own DK Jr. through DSiWare on my 3DS. Wish they would release a whole series of these games on their own. The Collection they came out with on the DS was disappointing. Gonna have to get me a Game and Watch avatar for this site.

Have you played the tabletop version of Donkey Kong Jr? It's quite interesting, with some vibrant colors (for the time) as well as balloons, parasols, and multi-layer platforming

Unfortunately, no. That one is apparently rare enough to be out of my budget for buying. It looks rad as hell, though. I only recently discovered the Panorama line of Game and Watch games. Was Donkey Kong Circus the first time that Sr. was playable? Or was that Donkey Kong 3 G&W?

DK3 G&W came out about a month before DK Circus did, which came out two months prior to DK Hockey! 1984 was a good year
