Christ, is that a normal price for that sort of watch, or is it just as ridiculous as it seems to me?

Yeah, I'd love some legitimate way to enjoy Super Game Boy features in HD.

I'd love to see him in an RPG.

I actually just watched the '76 remake of King Kong for the first time. Still haven't seen King Kong Lives, though. Based on its reputation I'm kind of surprised, looking at the poster, to see that John Guillermin came back to direct.
Not at all surprised, after looking on IMDB, to see that he only directed one movie afterwards despite living until just last year.
At least he could always say "I directed The Towering Inferno."
I'm getting off-topic here, though. I won't pretend that I didn't already know about this from DK Vine, but it's still a really neat project that I look forward to seeing updated. I feel like I should actually play the original game or at least watch a few videos of it in action so I could give more constructive comments that "Hey, looks pretty cool, good luck," but for now that's all I got.
P.S. That Japanese poster is now the background for my phone's lock screen. It's pretty badass.

letsplayvideogames.com/2016/11/report-ubisoft-developing-rabbids-mario-crossover-rpg-for-switch-launch-day/If you're active over on The Vine, you probably already heard about this. If not, then long story short, rumor has it that a new Mario RPG will be available for the Switch at launch, featuring the Rabbids of Rayman fame (or infamy, depending on your perspective). Personally, I'm fucking jazzed. It feels like this game is being made specifically for me. I love (some of) the Mario RPGs, I love the Rabbids, and I love inexplicable out-of-left-field crossovers. I'm still not convinced that it's real, so I'm trying not to get my hopes up. But man, let me tell you: If Nintendo shows this off in January, I'll definitely be getting a Switch early on. I mean, unless it looks like shit in spite of its potential, of course. That's always a possibility.

Yeah, I can definitely say that the game rarely felt tedious. Frustrating, but not tedious.
It always felt like I was making progress in some way. I would fail a mission, and have to try again, maybe tweak a vehicle design, but it wasn't just busywork. Even at its most frustrating, like "Saucer of Peril II," every time I failed I knew if I did things slightly differently I could win. I wasn't just doing it a bunch of times arbitrarily, I guess is what I'm trying to say.

I'm aware of their history together and all that stuff about the original Xbox, although as far as I know, most of those Dreamcast rereleases have also come to PSN and Steam. Feel free to point out any exceptions though.
As for Rare just being a good fit, I don't know. It seems like most of the people who wanted to do animal mascot platformers are with Playtonic now. I'll eat those words if Rare's next project after Sea of Thieves is a Banjo follow-up or something to that effect, but all things considered, it seems like if anything, contracting Playtonic to helm it would be the way to go.

I'd love that personally, but what reason would they have for doing it. I mean, the revival in and of itself I won't question, because those can be pretty inexplicable. But why Rare, specifically, other than a few people on the internet think it would be cool?

I happen to love Nuts & Bolts, I really do. I didn't actually get around to playing through it until earlier this year, though. I didn't have a 360 until recently, after I got an Xbox One, so aside from trying a few friends' copies over the years, my real introduction to the game was via Rare Replay.
I always thought it looked fun, though! I remember people being so disappointed when it came out, but thinking "if I had any other big reason to get a 360, I'd totally buy that." I've always been open to change like that. I think part of it was, I wasn't aching for a new 3D platformer, especially since I owned a PS2. I just wanted to see the characters I loved in a new adventure, and Nuts & Bolts seemed to deliver on that, and introduce some new interesting faces along with them, along with some totally novel gameplay.
Now that I've actually played the thing, though, would I say it met my expectations? I would say it exceeded them, and is now one of my favorite games ever.
Granted, it wasn't love at first sight. I actually started playing almost immediately when I got Rare Replay last August. I wasn't really feeling it. I forced myself to get through the first few missions and gave up before I even finished Nutty Acres.
But a few months later, to tell you the truth I'm not sure what specifically brought me back to the game, maybe it was just spite, but I came back and really tried to focus on enjoying the building mechanics rather than just the driving (and such), and then it started to get really fun.
I had to fight some of my natural gaming instincts to enjoy it, though. I'm used to trying to get as much done in one clean sweep as I can in games, and with Nuts & Bolts' mission structure, that just made me miserable. Once I started settling for bronze on certain missions and coming back when I had better vehicle parts, I was having a blast. And eventually, I completed the game 100%.
I don't blame 360 owners for not taking a leap of faith on this game. I totally see why the game failed commercially and why some people just don't like it. But damn, Rare made an excellent game with Nuts & Bolts. Not an iterative improvement on an existing formula, but something totally new.
Fresh enough to rival Jungle Beat, which I also love.

My vote is for "The Professor & Mary Ann," but maybe you guys can think of an even better one.

I distinctly remember an area from Wallace & Gromit in Project Zoo where you're running up some platforms while a chimp (or some manner of primate) throws barrels at you. It's been a while since I played the game, but I got a kick out of it at the time. I'll be looking for video of it on YouTube, but I felt like going ahead and making this post.
Oh, and this is a bit of a stretch, but does anyone else remember that bit of the Castle area in Resident Evil 4 where you're running up one of the towers and a ganado keeps pulling that switch to drop barrels down onto the platform you're using? Could be a coincidence, but it reminded me of Donkey Kong.
EDIT: Okay, I looked up a video, and wow. The bit I was talking about in Project Zoo is much more blatantly Donkey Kong than I remembered. It's pretty much a full-blown 3D remake of the first board!!
As for Resident Evil 4, I played through it again recently via the Xbox One rerelease, so I remembered the part in question well. I was just lazy and didn't feel like looking up a video before. But here's one now:
I've never heard of this LPer before. Please feel free to ignore the commentary. It just happens to show the room in question.
